Pikes Peak View

For Gary, disc golf has always been a favorite pastime. So, when we purchased our property, one of the first things he wanted to do was design his own disc golf course. Living this far away from civilization, its a drive to a public course, and besides… who wouldn’t like to walk out the door and directly onto a disc golf course? I don’t even play the game, but I truly love walking the disc golf course with him.

But what good is a golf course without a little competition? We want others in the area to benefit, too. And, what better way to meet people with like interests when you’re new to the area? At the same time, we want to be respectful of the land, as well as, our neighbors, so we want to keep this as low-key as possible. Thus, we do have a few guidelines we must follow.

Rules on our Disc Golf Course

  1. As long as we’re home, the disc golf course is open. A tee-time is not required, but you are welcome to book one. Please stop at the house when you arrive to let us know you’re here and sign a waiver. YOU MUST SIGN A WAIVER! If you happen to stop by and we are not home, please DO NOT play the course, so it’s best to schedule a time and let us know when you’ll be here.

  2. PLEASE CARPOOL. This is to limit traffic in our private community and keep the serenity of the disc golf course. Ride together when possible to limit traffic. We are not a public park, nor do we want to be one. Part of the beauty of this disc golf course – we are very secluded and very quiet. We intend to keep it that way.
  3. You MUST stop at the house and check-in with us first. As much as we hate to, we must protect ourselves in this lawsuit-happy world, so we require a waiver stating you won’t sue us if you twist an ankle climbing hole six. (If you have not signed a waiver, you are trespassing and will be asked to leave.)

  4. Items found on the property belong to us. This is our private property. If you find it on our land, it belongs to us or someone we know. This includes antler sheds. If you should happen across something on our property, we simply ask you to turn it into us so we can return it to its rightful owners.
  5. Respect our neighbors above all else. If your disc flies over into one of our two neighbor’s properties, please DO NOT go get it. Simply remember where it went and when you come back to the house let us know. We will go get it for you. Out of respect for our neighbors, we want to limit crossing property lines by anyone but us.
  6. Smoking is allowed, at designated areas. We are in a high-risk fire area. Please don’t start our disc golf course on fire. Make sure no butts, ash, or cherries are dropped on the ground. The terrain is very dry and the slightest spark will start a fire. Benches all around the course have sand buckets nearby for safe disposal.
  7. Shit Happens. We don’t have bathrooms on the disc golf course, so in the event of an emergency, please feel free to come inside, we will always be present while you are here. Also, we do keep first aid supplies in the house, so if someone should need it, please feel free to come to the house.
  8. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times. We love dogs, we have one of our own. Besides the fact our HOA has a leash ordinance, with all our wildlife, I don’t care how well-trained they are, there is a risk they will run. We have a high number of predators in this area, and we don’t want to see anyone to get hurt including your furbaby.
  9. Donations are appreciated. Since this is a private disc golf course, we cannot charge a fee to play our course, however, we are responsible for all of the maintenance, upkeep, and future expansion. Your donations help us cover those costs and our time, thank you!
